Happy Easter!

Below is a picture of a bunny I painted & decorated. I showed a sideview photo of the bunny so that you can see his fluffy tail on him, too. 😊 The big egg next to him is a microwave device I use to make hard boiled eggs.

Photographed above is a new homemade recipe I tried (banana walnut pancakes). You can see I used my bunny shaped skillet. Walgreens has the BEST maple syrup (it is "grade A dark color, robust taste").

How can I be of service?

I have a 3 or 4 question (depending on your intentions, you'll know what I mean when you click the link to it) feedback survey that you can OPTIONALLY decide if you want to use to receive a discount ($5 off a service of mine if you answer question #1 OR question #2 of the survey OR $10 off a service of mine if you answer BOTH question #1 and question #2 pending approval from me). You can also OPTIONALLY decide to put in your contact info. if you want to receive follow up from me (regardless if you want the discount). You will have to fill out the survey BEFORE 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Wed. April 30, 2025 when it expires. If you decide you want to use your discount (pending my approval), you'd have to contact me no later than Mon. June 30, 2025 by 1 pm PST before forfeiting. Limit 2 feedback survey completions per person (again pending my approval). Thank you in advance for completing! 🙏

Free ice cream

Dairy Queen is giving away a free small soft serve ice cream cone tomorrow, (Thurs. 3/20/25) during their hours of operation. You don't need to buy anything. I snapped a photo of the paragraph discussing this below the ice cream photo (below).

I called to get information about it (the 2 Dairy Queens in Puyallup only have vanilla ice cream) and the Spanaway location has chocolate. 😋 (The Puyallup locations and Spanaway are participating in this free giveaway). There were no requirements such as (dine-in or take-out only) you could do drive-thru if that is more convenient to you. It'd be only an additional no more than $1.10 (if they charge tax for Puyallup) if you wanted to have your cone dipped "dipped" defined as having them dip your ice cream in chocolate so it has a chocolate shell on it. The value of a regular non-dipped small cone is $3.51 for Puyallup.

I read about in a recent Woman's World Magazine 👆.

Do you remember a time... if so, you can get $5 off a service of mine

I saw this post on LinkedIn this past Monday from a Human Resources manager (below).
Picture
That post reminded me of a time when I was promoted. I landed my first full-time job with benefits when I was 20, while still continuing college. I was a government contractor on base as their safety IT administrative assistant. I wanted to advance from being in this position (even though I was really good at it and enjoyed the work) and a co-worker, mentor, and friend (at the time) came up with a way to get me "qualified" by having me complete projects and qualifications by specific deadlines on a 2-page sheet that I would have to get signed off by various people in the office. Within a year of working as their safety IT administrative assistant, I was promoted to safety technician (I worked in an office with other safety specialists). I still remember being in the office of the former safety director asking her about the opportunity and her immediately responding with, "But, you're doing so great in your current position" she then stopped herself and gave me that chance as I'm sure she remembered how she was given chances. She had told stories how she worked her way up in civil service from a GS 2 (pay grade) as a clerk typist to where she was at the time (GS 13 Safety Director) and where she did NOT stop climbing the ladder (she went to WA DC for a GS 15 position).

If you remember a time when you were given a chance (like I was), email me your story (like I did) to: [email protected] no later than Monday (3/31/25) by 1 pm Pacific Standard Time and receive $5 off any service of mine to use immediately after I respond back to you and approve. The discount has to be used no later than Wed. (4/30/25). Limit 1 discount per person. Friendly reminder, if you've never emailed me before, got a new email address, etc. I cannot control if your email ends up in my SPAM folder versus my inbox, so to ensure your email ends up in my inbox, you can also email me through this link thru my website: worksolutionstoday.com/contact.html

Check out a copy of my latest newsletter titled: "Happy Birthday, Carly! It's a BIG one"

Birthdays are a time for memories, wishes, celebrating, and taking time for you.

Memories - my uncle sent me a birthday card that came in the mail today (day before my birthday) in which he wrote how he couldn't believe I was 40 (he said he still remembers giving me a bath with my grandma in the kitchen sink as if it was "yesterday").

Speaking of memories (birthday related) I remember in junior high my friends and I telling each other we were turning "the big 1, 2" (for 12). 😊

Wishes - I made sure to make my wishes BEFORE blowing out my candles on my cake below. The 2 green candles on my cake represent abundance and the 2 purple ones since that's my favorite color. You can see the different colored flames (candles I already had in my pantry). The cake that I made is a first time recipe "strawberry stack cake" (I swapped out the white cake mix for yellow) and the frosting is homemade with cream cheese. And yes, it took only ONE time to blow out all my candles on my cake. 🤨 Glad the lighter in my drawer worked. 🙂
Picture
Celebrating - Although I will be celebrating with my family at a later date than my actual birthday, I still decided to do something on the actual day (well made the cake the day before, as well as got my special lunch pictured below, and got gas all the day before to save time on my actual birthday).
Picture
Photographed above will be my special lunch on my actual birthday (tomorrow). There are 2 types of sushi rolls photographed; one called a "California Crunch" roll which is your traditional California roll (spicy crab, avocado, and teriyaki) with Tempura crumbs (the Tempura crumbs is the crunch part). The other sushi roll is "Phoenix" which consists of grilled salmon, cucumber, avocado, spicy sauce, ponzu, and Japanese pepper.

Taking time for me - On my actual birthday, I anticipate the weather to be like it was today (sunny with no rain) and would love to take another walk in it. I'd also like to pick up my earrings that got fixed (one of the fan dangle earrings I have broke and has been for years). The end of last year, I found a place that does jewelry work. My watch needs a battery, too (which I know they can help with, too). I also have a haircut scheduled (haven't had a haircut since summer). And I need to open up my massager device from December (an extended Black Friday deal) see how it can massage my calves (it claimed to have this tilt feature to be able to do that) as I need to give myself a full blown pedicure. 🙂
